Free-Version Releases
Attention: this is not the changelog for the latest stable version 4.29.1 (see related release notes)

It has been a long weekend and although I am lacking sleep now ;-), I am glad to announce that v2.1 is available. With this version you´ll get a lot of new features and usability improvements. Here´s what new in detail:

Support for MapBox basemaps

MapBox allows you to create and share beautiful maps. Here are two examples:

Up to now, you could already use your MapBox maps as basemap with Leaflet Maps Marker – you only had to configure a custom basemap. This process got much easier with v2.1. You can now configure up to 3 MapBox basemaps in Settings /  Basemaps by just entering your username, mapname, zoom minimum/maximum and attribution:

Option to hide API links on markers list below layer maps

With layer maps you have the option to show a list of markers below the map. Till now, there were 3 fixed API links for each marker – directions, fullscreen and KML link:

With v2.1 you can now set the API links you would like to show in settings / layer defaults:

Check for incompatible plugins

Let´s face it: we all don´t like to read manuals, docs or support forums if it is not necessary. There is a list of incompatible plugins on mapsmarker.com but this is not the best solution, as many people might never check this list and give up on using the plugin too early.

So with v2.1 I implemented a check for incompatible plugins directly within the admin area of your Leaflet Maps Marker installation. If you are using an incompatible plugin, you will see a big red warning info on Leaflet Maps Marker´s admin pages. With some plugins, you will also find steps how to resolve this incompatibilities (like cformsII):

Changelog info box after each plugin update

v2.1 is the 19th update since the release of v1.0 on Jan 1st 2012 and I think it is important for users to know, what changed between each release. So from v1.0 I maintained a detailed changelog, which can be accessed via readme.txt or on mapsmarker.com.

With v2.1 the changelog for the current version now also gets displayed after the plugin update in the admin area of Leaflet Maps Marker:

I borrowed the icons from Firefox, which I think also has a beautiful changelog 🙂

Italian translation

Thanks to Luca Barbetti the plugin is now also available in Italian. Other translations that are currently being worked on are Portugese and Indonesian. If you would like to contribute a translation (like Chinese for example), please visit this page for more info on how to contribute.

Optimized search results table for maps

With v2.1 the search results for the TinyMCE button also got optimized: you now also see the map type and ID and long map names don´t break the layout anymore:

Other changes

The French translation got updated thanks to Vincèn Pujol, http://www.skivr.com, the Dutch translation thanks to Marijke, http://www.mergenmetz.nl and the Japanese translations thanks to Shu Higashi.

I also fixed a small bug causing  the attribution text to not clear on backend maps if basemap is changed and removed double slashes from image urls in settings.
